Welcome to the Chaplains page.  I'm Chaplain Drew and I'm the Chaplain for Chapter 63 of Road Riders for Jesus.  I'll be updating the page periodically with things I believe God wants me to share with you.  That being said I'm here to serve you.  Please feel free to e-mail me with topics, concerns, or prayer requests at chaplaindrew@att.net or on Facebook at Chaplain Drew.  I'm not a big facebook guy so be patient with me when doing the facebook thing.

Thought for the week 17 July 2011:
Well I guess I’ll start by apologizing for not posting last week.  As usual I’m out running around the country and of course couldn’t find a hotel with a good enough Wi-Fi connection to post on Facebook.  Lot of good things and bad things in the last two weeks.  Best thing is that Terry B. is doing well.  If you read my last thought of the week, he was the one in the motorcycle accident.  He has some broken bones and will take some time healing, but it could have been a lot worse.  Its funny how FB works.  I’ve never met Terry but he was the first person I became “friends” with on Facebook, that wasn’t a family member.  I’ve got the pleasure of “meeting” several “friends” that way.  You really can learn about some great warriors for Christ that way.  So a couple of nights ago I had a dream where I told someone the verse, “Greater is he that is in me, then he that is in the world.”.  I’m not a book, chapter, verse guy.  By that I mean I can remember scripture, but am horrible about remembering where it is in the Bible.  What was weird was I woke up after the dream and read 1 John 4 as part of my morning scripture reading.  For you smart guys and girls, you’ll recognizes that when you get to verse 4 it’s the scripture from the dream (some translations very the wording somewhat).  That’s pretty much the story of my life.  I look at myself as being pretty worthless as a messenger of Christ.  Lucky for me, Christ doesn’t rely on me.  He uses me.  I don’t know anything about diesel trucks (I had to spell check diesel).  But I was looking at 2500HD diesels and of course this morning ran into a guy driving one at the gas pumps and got to pretend like I was an expert and had the perfect tool to talk to him and get a chance to witness.  I had opportunities arise several times while traveling this last week with bikers as well, including one who was doing an Iron Butt ride (guess what I had been researching and planning right before that).  Over and over I will read a scripture and that day will be able to use it in conversation and it makes me look like an expert.  I’m not.  When I started this post I had no idea of what to write about.  But looking at what I wrote so far I think I’ll say this.  Most of the people in the Bible didn’t rely on scripture memory or on their knowledge of doctrine (Not to say you shouldn’t study the Bible).  They relied on their relationship with God (and his Son in the New Testament), and let themselves be used.  I’m a nobody.  But my God is everything.  He created the universe and he made a role for me to fill.  Even with all my faults.  This week don’t worry about how you’ll do Gods work.  He decides that.  Just let him use you and trust in his ability to do that.  Oh yeah.  When he‘s done using you remember this.  When Jesus entered Jerusalem the crowds cheered him, not the donkey.
